St. Patricks Day

For St. Patrick's Day this year - I made a Chocolate Stout Cake that was delicious and rich and moist with a hint of Guinness flavored throughout. I love to bake things that are holiday specific, but sometimes I wish that holiday happened more than once a year! This cake is great on its own or with a drizzle of rich dark chocolate ganache. I wouldn't recommend coating it in frosting. This did, however, lead me to want to make Irish Car Bomb cupcakes for next year... A combination of a Guinness Chocolate cake, maybe with a Bailey's Irish Cream center and topped off with a whiskey flavored whipped cream. The possibilities are endless!

I also made, what I call, an American-Irish Soda Bread. It was deliciously moist, thanks to the addition of my favorite ingredient - buttermilk.. with a touch of caraway seeds. I leave out the raisins since I'm not a fan of raisins in baked goods, but they can definitely be added if it fits your taste. Again - I can make adjustments to fit anyone's needs.

Groom's Cake

Interested in a special groom's cake? This was a recreation of the Groom's dearly loved scooter in the form of a cake! Using an image transfer technique, I can take a photo and recreate it as closely as possible on top of your cake! This could also be a great birthday cake as well.

"Wilton" Cakes

I was asked to do a commission piece to resemble the birthday girl's picture. This was a really fun challenge, but now that I've seen I can do it - I'm up for more challenges! I've been trained in Wilton cake decorating, so if you have something in mind, I'm flexible!

Children's Cakes

I guess Rainbow Brite won't necessarily pop up as something a kid wants - but I wouldn't be surprised if a 30 year old would request it! I remember my mom making Wilton cakes for me when I was a kid, and it was such a treat. I've been trained in Wilton cake decorating, so if you have a pan - or would be interested in the few I already have - I will gladly make a Wilton cake for you.
I can also work with you on making some kind of shaped cake. The top cake was made to resemble the caterpillar from the kid's book - "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". I used a chocolate cake for the base, and used Wilton buttercream frosting to decorate - so that I could achieve the layers of color. This was a fun cake to make!
